EU GARAN label requirements
Annex II of Regulation (EU) 2025/1960 fixes almost everything about the label. These are the rules that decide whether what you produce is compliant.
Editable and fixed elements
Three fields may be changed. Nothing else may be.

The QR code leads to the Your Europe page on the commercial guarantee of durability. The translation strip along the bottom is an integral part of the label and cannot be omitted or cut out — it is what lets a consumer read the label in their own language.
Permitted duration values
The practical guidelines set out how the number may be written:
- Whole numbers, including two-digit ones — 3, 5, 8, 11, 12, 22.
- Half years where needed, written with a comma — 2,5 or 4,5.
- No other decimals. 4,1 and 4,2 are not permitted.
Remember that the guarantee itself must run for more than two years before the label may be used at all. The editor enforces the formatting rules as you type.

A larger label is fine, but it has to scale as a whole — the regulation requires the entire label to be displayed without distorting, modifying or separating its elements.
Which version, where

The nested label carries a single editable element, the duration. If you use it, the full label must appear in its entirety on the first mouse click, roll-over or tactile screen expansion, and it should be accompanied by accessible text and a link.
Do and don't
Do
- Start from the official vector files published by the Commission.
- Match the file to the medium: RGB for digital, CMYK for print.
- Change only the three editable fields.
- Keep the label’s original proportions.
- Test it on the medium you will display it on, checking for pixelation and missing elements.
Don't
- Recolour the label, or apply filters and effects.
- Distort, stretch, crop or fold it.
- Separate, move or realign its elements.
- Omit or cut out the translation strip at the bottom.
- Use it for a guarantee that does not meet the four conditions.
